Italia’s top club disciplinary authority has banned Napoli midfielder Ciro Imobile for three months following his alleged clash with a referee.
The hearing on Friday concluded with a disciplinary hearing against Imobile’s agent, Paolo Crescenza, and a suspension for two months for the defender’s father.
The disciplinary hearing also found that the striker should not be allowed to play again, although the ban will be reduced by the club if Imobile is able to get a new contract.
The 36-year-old was suspended on March 31, which means Imobile cannot sign for a second time until the end of the month.
It was reported that the Milanese club had offered a new deal of around €5m, but it has been unclear when the player’s father will be able to submit his appeal.
