The best books I’ve read this year are, by the way, mostly written by people who aren’t famous, so you don’t get a real sense of what it’s like to write something for a living.
I mean, there are a lot of great writers and artists and filmmakers and musicians and poets and other writers who have been working on books for decades, and yet I haven’t read a book by one of them for a decade.
It’s like being a kid again, but instead of being a weirdo kid, you’re actually a kid in a world that you’re familiar with.
