NEW YORK (AP) It might seem like a stretch to suggest that any cert is better or more reliable than the one you have right now, but Iiba Certified CBA Programmer is a cert that everyone should have access to.
“I think that a lot of the certifications that people think are the most prestigious are just like any other,” said Lisa St. Clair, founder of Iiba Certification Center, a certification training center.
“It doesn’t really matter what it is.
It’s about knowing the rules, knowing the skills and the techniques, understanding the requirements.”
The certification program, which St. Louis founded in the early 1990s, offers certifications in business administration, accounting, marketing, law, legal assistance, sales, tax, legal, health, finance and technology.
It has about 40,000 participants in more than 40 countries.
St. Claire said the program has helped more than 1 million people get into their jobs and more than 10 million people qualify for health insurance.
“You’re not going to find any other certification that can help with your job search, that can really get you in the door of a job,” she said.
The industry is booming.
According to a survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers, a global consulting firm, there were about 1.7 million employers looking for a certified financial planner in 2018.
The numbers are expected to increase this year as more employers add financial planning training to their hiring lists.
“It’s really been the fastest growing area of our industry, especially since the recession,” said Karen Cope, vice president of financial planning at Cope & Baker.
“We see the demand, we see the job openings, we’re seeing the demand for it and we’re excited to be able to help them.”
But the cert is not a guarantee of success.
Some employers, including many small businesses, balk at having a certified professional help them set up their payroll.
Others simply don’t need an accountant who knows the ins and outs of financial accounting.
St. Clair said she wants to change that.
“If someone says, ‘Oh, I’m going to hire me and I’m certified, what’s my problem?’ it’s not my problem,” she explained.
“If they have the same problem as me, they’re going to have a different problem.
It needs to be a lot more about how they’re able to handle their finances, how they deal with taxes and how they handle the other things that you might think about.”
And that’s the beauty of certification is it’s really just about having the skills that are necessary.
“The company uses Iiba CBA’s certificate training to help more than just its clients.
The cert is also used by more than 30,000 employers across the U.S. and in Canada.”

St, Clair said there’s a misconception that all businesses need to have accounting, accounting and accounting consulting programs.
“People think, ‘Well, you have to have an accountant, you need to know the rules and the regulations and you need a certified accountant.’
But it’s actually pretty simple,” she added.”

Some employers are taking advantage of that, as well.
One large chain has developed an online training program, Iiba Financial Planner, which is being used in more areas of business.
And a growing number of businesses are using the program to help their workers get a head start on their career.
The companies are also using the cert to help new hires, who might have never been in a certified training center before.
Iiba has trained thousands of new hires across the country, but it also works for existing employees.
“We see a lot,” St. Cirles said.
“Some of the people we’re training are people who are very new to the industry.
And we’re giving them a very simple training process.”
To get the cert, you’ll need to complete the certification training.
It covers a number of topics, including how to set up your own account, prepare and submit invoices, and manage payroll.
It can be completed in about 10 minutes.
The cert also has some extra training to offer.
